Media/Press Strategist & National Spokesperson for Black Press USA
Dawn Montgomery is a graduate of South Jones High School in Ellisville, Mississippi. She received her Associate’s degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Gautier, Mississippi and received her Bachelor’s degree from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dawn has interned at the White House (before Trump) and has traveled the world thanks to her former Modeling career that spanned over 15 years.
Dawn created a sports blog that quickly transitioned into a sports media company called Fans Favorite Fan. Fans Favorite Fan was a sports media platform that shares fan experiences, game day coverage & consults businesses and teams on what fans want.
After selling Fans Favorite Fan, Dawn accepted an offer at The Atlanta Voice to be the legacy media brand’s Vice President of Operations in March 2021. Three months later, Dawn was offered the position of Chief Brand Officer at The Atlanta Voice. Dawn has risen up in the ranks during her 10-year media career, and she stills works in the sports industry.
Currently Dawn is the National Spokesperson for Black Press USA and works with the National Newspaper Publishers Association which has over 200 Black newspaper members nationwide. Dawn also serves as a press/media strategist to companies and non-profits who need to understand/navigate the media landscape.
Dawn is a single mother of 3 children: Airman Sean (19), Chris (13) & Grace (5). She currently lives in Decatur, Georgia and loves working from home with the freedom to live her life the way she has always dreamed of.
