Zane “Lil Zane” Copeland Jr. is an American rapper, actor, songwriter, screenwriter, film producer, director, record label owner, investor, and businessman. Born in Yonkers, NY and raised in Atlanta, GA the journey of his career started at the age of 10, as a member of a rap group called KWA (Kids With Attitudes), along with his younger brother, Bae Boy, and his cousin, Double EE. The group performed in talent shows all across Atlanta and quickly landed a deal with Kaper/RCA Records, and changed their name to KRONIC. After his breakout with KRONIC Lil Zane stepped out as solo artist, landing a feature ‘Anywhere’ by 11 2o n( Bthaed sBinogyle Records) off their sophomore album, Room 112. The single was certified Double Platinum by the RIAA, which created a huge buzz for his career. The success of the single led him to his first solo record deal with Priority Records. His first release under the new label, Money Stretch, gained traction and was featured on Ice Cube’s ‘Next Friday’ soundtrack. Shortly after he released his next big hit, ‘Callin’ Me’ featuring 112, which was the first single off his debut album, ‘Young World: The Future’. Over several weeks the single sold 500,000 copies and became Lil Zane’s first solo gold album, peaking at #21 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart, staying on the chart for thirteen weeks; and #1 on the Hot Rap Songs chart.
Building on his portfolio, Lil Zane began to focus on movie soundtracks with placements in major Box Office films such as Hard Ball, The Fighting Temptations, 3 Strikes, Magic Mike, and Dr. Dolittle 2. During his music career Zane has collaborated with numerous iconic and innovative artists and producers including, but not limited to: Akon, P Diddy, Mase, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Tank, Pitbull, Bow Wow, Sammie, Ester Dean, B2K, Jermaine Dupri, Busta Rhymes, Master P, Lil Romeo, Silk the Shocker, Keri Hilson, T-Bone, Lil Scrappy, Montell Jordan, Jacob Latimore, The Outlawz, Uncle Luke, and The O’Jays . He has also toured with Whitney Houston, 112, Trick Daddy, Lil Scrappy, Ray J, Trina, Bow Wow, Ginuwine, Next, Ace Hood, and Pleasure P.
Additionally, Lil Zane began building on his repertoire in the tv/film industry, appearing in multiple box office hit films including Finding Forrester (Sean
Connery), The Fighting Temptations (Cuba Gooding Jr.), Dr. Dolittle 2 (Eddie Murphy), Motives (Vivica A.Fox), and A Day In The Life (Omar Epps & Mekhi
Phifer). He has also appeared as a guest on various TV shows such as Cold Case, Atlanta, Moolight, All of Us, The Parkers Show, and One on One.
Currently, Lil Zane is working on several tv/film projects including starring as a recurring character named “Sockie” on the highly-anticipated series “Black Mafia Family”, produced by 50 Cent, which is set to premiere on the STARZ Network September 26th, 2021. He is also producing and starring in a YouTube
series titled, The Bottom, along with actor Karon Riley (35 & Ticking), Marcus Monroe, and Lem Collins under his media production company Moolah Makin VisualZ.
In addition to acting, Lil Zane has established multiple businesses including Unwine bottled water, Unwine Essentials, and a clothing line called Established Blak. He is also scheduled to release new music leading with the single “325” in the Fall of 2021 under his label, Moolah Makin Muzik.
